Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who recently tested positive with ASYMPTOMATIC Covid, has announced today on the national news that he is FULLY VACCINATED, even though he has discouraged Americans from taking preventive measures for months. As a nod to the cynical, political game being played right now by Florida Governor DeSantis, at the expense of American PUBLIC HEALTH (that means EVERYBODY). Governor Abbott has also said that he will be “treating” his non- symptoms with……you guessed it……”Regeneron”! The very same treatment hawked by DeSantis, instead of the vaccine. “Cha-Ching”! “Political” and “Financial Self-Interest” is the order of the day.

And another GRIFTER, at the expense of AMERICAN PUBLIC HEALTH, Mark Zuckerberg of FaceBook fame, in an interview today looking deeply “concerned”, while saying that FaceBook “deleted 18 MILLION Covid misinformation posts”, but was unable to say “how many people viewed” these misinformation posts before they were deleted. And it only took MONTHS for FaceBook to do that. You don’t think Zuckerberg’s delay had anything to do with the billions in advertising revenue that FaceBook makes every, single year?

    Salisbury - WBTV

Breaking from Zach Lechette, Town of Landis:
Due to COVID-19 and numerous exposures, beginning today, August 18, 2021, at 7 PM, the Landis Fire Department will temporarily suspend operations through next Thursday, August 26, 2021.

It is my hope to resume normal operations on Friday, August 27, 2021, at 0645 hours, after an appropriate quarantining period has passed and enough employees are well enough to return to work.

During this time, no employees or volunteers should be coming to either station or answering calls on Landis' apparatus. We have arranged for our district to be covered by China Grove and Kannapolis during this period of time.

Additionally, Assistant Director Young and I will be available during the days to try and mitigate medical calls as much as possible, to reduce the mutual aid responses needed.

This was not an easy decision and I ensure you it was not made lightly. A lot of thought went into this. However, I think everyone can agree that it is better to get ahead of this and make sure we are healthy than to allow it to become a "snow ball" effect.

During this time, fire department full-time staff and others who have been identified, should quarantine away from work.
There will be no training on Monday, August 23rd, for our regularly scheduled fire drill.

We are contracting with a professional cleaning company to come and disinfect all stations and apparatus.

Looks like Financial Guru, Jim Cramer, and Barron’s, are finally putting together Governor Greg Abbott’s and Governor Ron DeSantis’ conflict of interests and self-enrichments with their constant hawking of Regeneron, an unproven treatment that does not prevent, or cure Covid. Can corruption get any more cynical or flagrant? Nope.

So, what’s the “take-away” from all of this? Politicians, and other investors, will have no real interest in seeing this pandemic end, especially if they are abusing their public platforms to hawk unproven treatments like Regeneron. Why would they, if they stand to make a windfall from it? This means that they will DELIBERATELY allow the virus to spread and mutate in the American population, and those who have been influenced and primed by disinformation campaigns will buy whatever these sorry “leaders” choose to hawk and sell. You are nothing but a dollar $ign to these cretins.

Because of their cynicism, dishonesty, and disinformation, booster shots will be necessary to keep up with any viral mutations which may appear in the future. If that happens, expect to see more bogus, unproven “treatments” popping up to fleece you. This is a time when only your GOOD COMMON SENSE and your God-given WITS will keep you healthy, because like everything else in this coarse and vicious era, you’re pretty much on your own.

Moderna and Pfizer stand to make about $15-20B per year each if booster shots are required every 8 months.

    https://www.foxbusiness.com/money/h...ohnson-johnson-could-make-from-covid-vaccines

What about their large financial incentive to continue to make huge profits and push additional shots? Who holds stock in those two companies? How many politicians? How many people at the CDC and FDA?

Moderna's stock is up about 300% since the vaccine was approved.

You are correct, we should limit the profits of ALL drug makers so there is not such an incentive to profit from the illness of others. Good idea.

Even if they are not getting hospitalized or dying, they are still spreading it around. In Utah, as of 6 weeks ago, 20% of all new cases were vaccinated.

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-...nfections-carry-same-virus-load-unvaccinated/

A study by University of Oxford scientists has found that people who contract the Delta variant of COVID-19 after being fully vaccinated carry a similar amount of the coronavirus as those who catch the disease and have not been inoculated.

    https://www.nbcnews.com/health/heal...-000-fully-vaccinated-americans-have-n1275500

But the total number of breakthrough cases is likely higher than 125,683, since nine states, including Pennsylvania and Missouri, did not provide any information, while 11, like Covid hotspot Florida, did not provide death and hospitalization totals. Four states gave death and hospitalization numbers, but not the full tally of cases.
And vaccinated adults who have breakthrough cases but show no symptoms could be missing from the data altogether, say officials.

For other states that publish data like Utah, it's clear breakthrough cases have accelerated in the past two months. In Utah on June 2, 2021, just 27 or 8 percent of the 312 new cases in the state were breakthrough cases. As of July 26 there were 519 new cases and almost 20 percent or 94 were breakthroughs, according to state data.

Sounds like an increasing need to continue masks and other mitigating processes in addition to the increase in vaccinations to keep the hospitalization and death rate down. Thanks for pointing out why we still need to us all of the tolls in the tool box to fight viral pandemics.

In your rush to negation, and only negation, once again, you’ve missed the point. I imagine that this is because you’re relatively young and as such, do not have the ability to compare eras. I am not disagreeing with you that a vaccine stands to gain a profit as well. “Profit motive” is just the era that we currently live in. It may be difficult to believe, but in past eras, politicians were unable to profit from a vaccine that was developed in order to protect American public health. For instance, in the 1950s, even Dr. Jonas Salk, declined to patent his Polio vaccine, and instead made it his personal contribution to American public health:

    BAD9CD41-D2AB-4F6D-8DA7-C6D86879DF3E.jpeg
    D44AD2E3-DBE2-44DC-806D-5330AAF05100.jpeg

But after the rise of pharmaceutical corporations, and the appearance of these pharmaceutical companies on the stock market, where products are speculated on, and shares are publicly traded to specifically make a profit, altruistic doctors like Dr. Salk, who were largely motivated not by profit, but by leaving a legacy to better mankind, were later replaced by profit mongers. And that’s where we are today. The old system has been vanquished. Yes, companies will definitely make a profit from the current vaccines, and booster shots, but that doesn’t mean that cynical and self-interested politicians should be competing for the attention of consumers, ( now “politicized” consumers) to use their public offices to take advantage of them, and hawk alternative, unproven “remedies”.

In a perfect world, or a better country for that matter, vaccines should be developed through taxpayer funding to remove the profit motive from investors, but that’s the “coarse” and “vicious” world that I was talking about that we all live in now. Anybody with a public platform, whether they are on YouTube spreading disinformation, or a politician deliberately directing your attention to an unproven, “alternative” product like Regeneron, that will fill their pockets, will probably do so, and it’s all perfectly legal. We’ve come a long way from ethical men like Dr. Jonas Salk. And though pharmaceutical companies who developed the vaccine will financially gain from it, because that is the current system, the history and efficacy of vaccines are the only proven and dependable way to eradicate deadly diseases.

Any pharma-co with any drug or vaccine is going to make a profit. Saying the COVID-19 vaccine was developed and the CDC-recommended booster was greenlighted because "it's all a scam and only about the money" is a classic red herring, a typical Fox-news-type false equivalency with the quackery that is regeneron.

By creating a "Ford vs Chevy" argument out of some disproven fetish for Regeneron over Pfi-Mo-JoJo vaccine, Retrumplicans (Desantis/Abbot/Cotton/etc) are trying to turn the response for a once-a-century world health catastrophe into a Bud vs Miller argument at the redneck bar.

But I say, keep gulping down the fake news. We need a few less idiots around anyway. They're already dropping like flies in MO and plenty of other red areas. Rural NC is already losing population. Maybe MO and OK will lose some house seats due to death rates. I think that's what they really want though, because they are basically committing suicide (Seppuku?) for the Grand Leader, but just can't say it because Trump and his generals might overhear what they are saying and take them to the political gas chamber to extinguish their careers. That would be great for Dems.

There was a small minority of Democrats years ago who were vocally anti-vaccine. They founded their own little, sub-culture, traded anti-vaccine materials amongst themselves, and were largely written off as crackpots by the majority of Americans. This was before internet “content creators” managed to create online content which flattered the beliefs of fringe groups and sought to financially gain from them. The same kind of thing has happened with Republicans who now refuse the vaccine. This is why I call these people, “politicized consumers”.

“Ford vs. Chevy” with a little “seppuku” thrown in! Lol. A little bit aside, but yes, the political parties have been “branded” in such a restrictive way (which is why I’m an unaffiliated, political “orphan” right now), that once this happens, it becomes all too easy to scoop up manufactured, political resentments, and direct these resentful, politicized consumers towards unproven “therapies” and politicized products. It’s “brand loyalty” at its finest, but it doesn’t guarantee that your elected officials will have your best interests in mind, especially in light of what Abbott and DeSantis are doing right now with Regeneron.

Where’s the actual link to the “study”? This is from a disinformation campaign that was plastered all over the internet, and has been debunked. Anyone who has access to a site can publish papers, but some of these papers are not “peer-reviewed”. When a paper is posted, and is not peer-reviewed, it means that its claims have not been examined by professional peers whose job it is to evaluate research claims. This paper was linked and attributed to blogger, Paul Joseph Watson, a known disseminator of online information:

Well, NJ2NC, it looks like you have deleted that debunked paper you just posted a few minutes ago, but I managed to get into it anyway, and if you click on the link at the very top of that first page, you will see a disclaimer about “preprint papers that are not peer reviewed”, and that any “unevaluated”, “non-peer reviewed” papers “should not be used to guide clinical practice”. This is standard practice in all research, but does not prevent another person from borrowing/stealing the unevaluated materials as a bogus way to “legitimize” their online content. They can also change the content to suit their purposes as they see fit. Whatever your politics, please do not automatically assume that when you go on some of these monetized, online sites that the information that you are getting is legitimate, or has not been corrupted in some way, like this unevaluated paper was.

Here is the first page of that unevaluated study before you deleted it:
