Anti-Masker Charged With Child Abuse After Pushing Student Who’d ‘Had Enough’
The parent was walking his 10th-grade daughter to school, which has turned her away multiple times over her refusal to wear a mask.

An anti-mask parent taking a video in front of a Florida high school was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly grabbed and pushed a student who reached for his phone and proclaimed she’d “had enough.”

The parent, Dan Bauman, had been walking his 10th-grade daughter to Fort Lauderdale High School, which has turned her away multiple times over her refusal to wear a mask and comply with district policy, according to WFOR, a CBS affiliate in Miami. Bauman was allegedly recording the maskless girl's attempt to enter the facility once again when a fellow student said, “I've had enough for four days,” according to NBC News. She then attempted to grab Bauman’s phone.

At that point, the 50-year-old allegedly grabbed the student’s hand, twisted it, and pushed her against a gate, according to the Washington Post. Video of the incident appears to show officers separating Bauman from the student.

Bauman was swiftly charged with child abuse and carted off to the Broward County Jail, according to the Washington Post. A bond amount was not listed for him in jail records, and it’s unclear at this time whether he has a lawyer who could comment on his behalf.

Though perhaps one of the more extreme incidents to date, the alleged scuffle wasn’t exactly isolated. Florida has become a hotbed of outrage over mask mandates and mandates against mask mandates, thanks to the bizarre politicization of public health guidance in that state and others. And the fact that the state has been absolutely pummeled by the coronavirus in recent weeks doesn’t seem to be changing that: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has held firm on his executive order that blocks schools from requiring masks, even though officials in some districts, like Broward County, are defying it in a move they argue will keep kids safe.

“First of all, it’s illegal for them to mandate it. It’s against the law, it’s against the Parents Bill of Rights,” Bauman told WFOR before he was arrested. “Our belief is it doesn’t stop the spread of the virus. It doesn’t control it, it does more harm than good.”

The interim principal at Fort Lauderdale High School, Sean Curran, told WFOR that his school is simply following district guidance by requiring masks but had otherwise met with Bauman’s family numerous times to lay out exceptions to the rule.

“Our kids are incredible,” Curran told WFOR. “Every single one of them is wearing [a mask] and are supportive of what the measures are to keep everyone safe.”

Apart from Bauman’s alleged antics, one Texas school district recently reported that a parent had ripped a mask off a teacher’s face, and another anti-mask parent in California allegedly attacked a teacher on the first day of school after they saw their daughter walk out of the facility wearing a mask.

And the HEALTHCARE RATIONING for Covid patients, that we talked about a couple of weeks ago, will likely begin soon, as is the case in New Mexico now. There are just not enough nurses and healthcare professionals to treat everyone with Covid in the coming days:

Counted 12 people in the grocery store this morning. 9 were unmasked despite the store policy parked outside the front door on a big sign. I mean I get it, it's HOT. But it just tells you where we are headed. Labor Day is going to send us sky high.

Filet mignon is now $34 a pound for choice, $29 for regular. So $40 for 2 people to eat steaks at home. I laughed and told him to throw it back. This is soon to be out of control. Soon we will all be eating frozen tilapia and white rice, like we live in Ethiopia. Thanks to the non-maskers and anti-vaxxers for making the US of A a borderline third-world country. Just wait til Labor Day. Rationing will start soon. You thought lack of toilet paper was bad. Just wait.

You are going to have angry, hot, global-warmed Trumpsters firing off rounds in the Lowes parking lot to get some meat. If it comes to shortages, certain industries (meat packers, farmers) need to be declared wartime-essential and forbidden from quarantine, etc. At that point, the damage from COVID vs the damage and danger of food rationing will tip the scales.

    https://www.reuters.com/world/us/ho...tions-could-spark-violent-attacks-2021-08-13/

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in a new terrorism warning bulletin, said violent extremists could view the reimposition of COVID-19-related restrictions following the spread of coronavirus variants as a rationale to conduct attacks.

    https://covid19risktools.com:8443/riskcalculator

Based on the information you have provided, the tool estimates that you have 0.02 (95% CI: 0.02 - 0.03 ) times the risk of dying from COVID-19 compared to the average risk for the US population.

Further, based on the information available from pandemic projections in your state of residence, the tool estimates an absolute rate of mortality of 2.0 (95% CI: 1.1 - 3.8 ) per 1,000,000 individuals in subgroups of the population with a similar risk profile to yours during the period of 08/28/2021 - 09/17/2021. This estimate is calculated based on the CDC's Ensemble mortality forecast data..

I'm pretty okay with a 2 in a million chance.

    https://scitechdaily.com/inescapabl...ery-neutralizes-all-known-sars-cov-2-strains/

An antibody therapy that appears to neutralize all known SARS-CoV-2 strains, and other coronaviruses, was developed with a little help from structural biologist Jay Nix.

Sotrovimab, the newest antibody therapy, was developed by GlaxoSmithKline and Vir Biotechnology after a large collaborative study by scientists from across the nation discovered a natural antibody (in the blood of a SARS survivor, back in 2003) that has remarkable breadth and efficacy.
Experiments showed that this antibody, called S309, neutralizes all known SARS-CoV-2 strains – including newly emerged mutants that can now “escape” from previous antibody therapies – as well as the closely related original SARS-CoV virus.

You would be because you are still not understanding the science .... the estimate is supposedly based on the Ensemble average mortality forecast for all people, including the vaccinated, which is not accurate for you or any other specific person. I really hope that you work in sales as everyone expects salespeople to lie to them.

PS your link does not work.

    https://publichealth.jhu.edu/2020/n...-help-determine-who-should-get-vaccines-first

A new online calculator for estimating individual and community-level risk of dying from COVID-19 has been developed by researchers at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

It doesn't take into account vaccines at all.

Again as a treatment which it says reduces the rates of hospitalization and death ....

The FDA granted an EUA for sotrovimab in late May after trials showed that people with mild to moderate COVID-19 infections who received an infusion of the therapy had an 85% reduction in rates of hospitalization or death, compared with placebo.

If your hamster is at risk for being infected you might want to consider this as a preventative ....

Subsequent tests in hamsters suggest that this antibody could even prevent a COVID-19 infection if given prophylactically. The new work was published in Nature.

Of course it doesn't as it was published last year before the variants were an issue too. Your sources are not very good, probably because you are trying to use them in the wrong manner.

Do libertarians not oppose those who incur debts for which the rest of us have to pay? Just asking for a friend who has trouble with understanding the lack of personal responsibility in these actions.

This study that you have posted was published in DECEMBER 2020, well BEFORE the current Delta wave had infected our country. The Delta variant is far more infectious than last year’s virus, making this December 2020 study irrelevant to the current Delta variant now sweeping the country.

In the future I will try to find studies that were done within the past 24 hours, maybe done personally by Fauci. Hopefully that will be relevant enough.

Besides your comment being ridiculous, and absolutely politically inspired, you do understand that in a pandemic such as this, with variants entering the picture that behave differently in the population, that it is critically important to post up to date information? Fauci has nothing to do with the fact that you posted irrelevant information.

Good Lord, that sounds like a crazy threat. And all because people just want to try to protect themselves and their families? Have you seen some of these Southern nurses and doctors in Covid wards at the end of their rope, and breaking down from the stress?
