Well, Butler Hall, as a new voice on the Board, he is a past teacher & principal. (Retired from the JoCo system) Not too sure who else? Ideas?
Larry Strickland and Butler Hall for sure. Still trying to decide between Dorothy Johnson and Brian Hale as # 3.
Larry, Butler, and Brian. It definately helped me to see them in person at the WJHS forum. I also had the opportunity to speak with them personally. Sadly though, one of the candidates "Got lost" on the way to the forum by their own admission. If I wanted to serve the public on the school board, I would certainly know where the schools are.
curious as to why the rs aren't endorsing sylvia herring could it be that she is an independent thinker and not willing to jump on the strickland/white bandwagon --- she certainly brings more experience with the johnston county schools than either hale or brannock http://blogs.newsobserver.com/voters_guide/index.php?title=board_of_education_6&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 Community Involvement: Vice-chairwoman, Johnston County Schools Advisory Board, served as chairwoman for four years; president, Meadow Athletic Association, member for 12 years; member, Benson Chamber of Commerce, education committee chairwoman for two years, board of directors for three years; former member, Meadow School (K-8) Advisory Board; current member, South Johnston High School Advisory Board; vice-president of Meadow PTA for two years, treasurer for four years; Partners in Education, 12 years; chairwoman of Meadow Share Program, 12 years
I'm thinking it will be Larry, Butler, and Brian as well. The candidate's forum definitely gave good background and insight into the candidates' platforms. It should be a good race for Tuesday.
