Huh! I just heard on the news this morning that it was being delayed because of all the rain we had in November.
The section from "old' hwy 64 to the 64 bypass is completed. They are still working on the section from "old" hwy 64 to Capital. But, sources say it will be completed and open by the first of the year. FINALLY!
Yeah well when will we see I-540 go from the 64 bypass to I-40 on the east side? Probably never. Politicians keep stealing from the hiway trust fund
I drove by several of the intersection the other day (boring life), and the road is done, the lines are painted, and the signs are up from 64 bypass, to about 401 N. The hold up seems to be right near Triangle Town Center to 401. Road looks done, but no line markings, and no signs, and landscaping to do. A little decent weather and Jan should be right. It was July 2006, first, then Oct 2006, now Jan 2007. When it opens it will give me one more option to get home besides I 40 or US 70.
