Just attended 2 Christmas parties this weekend. One had a band, chinese auction. The other was a pig pickin (I know, for Christmas?)

Just wondering what your families or company did for their parties?

One year we had a casino. That was a ton of fun!

The company that I work for has a dinner party that I don't attend. I won't go to it mostly because of the manager the we have. I can't stand to be around him. As for my family, we don't do anything special, I'd just like my stepson to come home instead of always going to his dads house at the coast.

I'm doing Christmas day here for DH's family, it'll be the first year we've done Christmas since we've bought the house and been married, his mother or grandmother always do it. I'm doing a late afternoon dinner, around 4ish... I don't want to be rushed all morning to have lunch on the table at 12:00-on-the-dot. I like to enjoy my Christmas mornings... maybe do presents and brunch & coffee with our best friends who live just next door.

Work.. that party is always a trip... since the company I work for has 7 locations, we used to try to rotate where the xmas party was held, Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, Charlotte, Greenville, Myrtle Beach or Norfolk, VA. Well after having it at Myrtle Beach one year, no one seems to mind having it down there every year now. This will be our 6th party down there, company pays for hotel room Saturday night, open bar (beer & wine), huge buffet for dinner. Anyone who wants to can go down Friday night and get a room at the company rate ($50, I ain't compaining about that, its a new beautiful hotel at N.Myrtle). They give away a few cruises, some large gift cards to Best Buy, etc... $500 - $1000 each... and anything else they might decide to get and wrap up. It's always lots of fun and a good chance to see everyone that we talk to on the phones all the time.

My company has a christmas party for salaried employees only. Which in this case breaks down to the managers and sales staff which equates to about 20 people plus spouses and is usually held at McGregor (sp).

My "company" Christmas party is being professionally catered and you have to pay to attend. I decided that what they are charging is too much for one lunch; I'm saving the money to spend on my kids. So, I won't be attending the party. I plan to spend time with family and friends over the holidays. No parties for me.

My office is going to Bonefish this year. Usually it's 42nd Street...decided to try somewhere different this time. Of course, I'm not going....

I've got my family (14 people) coming over Saturday night to eat.
Then the following weekend I've got DH's family coming over to eat (only 11 people). Then on Christmas Day I cook for just my immediate family.

So not really any parties, just lots of cooking!!

Nothing really out of the ordinary special with my family either and no company parties. Just spend Christmas at home and with parents/in-laws and that's about it.

Just one of the perks that keeps me here .... decent bonus plan.. 3 day "girls beachtrip" to Myrtle Beach - all the girls in the company get to go, company pays for huge oceanfront house, pays for food, beer & wine and a big dinner out one night. I can't complain too much... also get the occasional company's season tickets for the Hurricanes.

Company party was last week. Didn't go since DH was working out of town. They usually do a good job tho. Heard it was a lot of fun.

DH's Christmas party is a lunch. They go to a nice restaurant (like Ruth's Chris) and eat. Employees only. The old boss had a party at his house. That was fun.

The status quo for Christmas is to stop by my sister's on Christmas Eve and exchange gifts, then on to Grandma's. Spend the night, hot games of Uno, get up early for coffee with Grandpa, then presents, etc, etc.

This year DH is on call so I'm taking the Little One to Grandma's on Christmas day (in time for coffee with Grandpa). We'll stay for presents and dinner (lunch), then head on home.

Next year it'll be sans moi, so last year was the last one together.

Nope. Not just you...won't really be a Mr. Frogger next Christmas...well, technically that would be January 2008, but it's all the same to me I guess. A few days won't make any difference with something over which I have no control.
