we were in Pizza Inn (40/42) tonight for about 40 minutes. there was a lot of food under one booth and out into the floor the entire time we were there. I am not talking about 1 piece of pizza. this looked like a entire plate of spaghetti, etc. there was a waitress and a waiter working the tables and neither took the time to clean up the mess. I would prefer a clean restaurant over a drink refill. not a good sight while dining. I planned to tell the manager as I was leaving but right before we left the waiter cleaned up the mess. the posted 93 sanitation grade did not tell the cleaniness story at Pizza Inn tonight.
From what i understand 93 is not a good grade. i, personally, have never been there due to the fact that since they have opened i have yet to hear one good review.
I went there one time and was disappointed. Hardly anyone in there and still no pizza. I also had to refill my own drink.
I personally have always had a really good experience and we have been at least a dozen times. There have been times when it was too crowded, but we didnt even attempt to go in when the line was at the door. But we have always had great service and good food when we have gone. I'd say to give it a chance, I havent been disappointed yet.
we went once and I wasn't impressed... seemed more like a Chuckie Cheese! I do like the one in Smithfield ok though.
Chuckie Cheese? I must have missed the dancing rats. Anyway, I have never liked the taste of Pizza Inn food, but MayDay and the boys love it. We go about 2x month. When they get slammed, I have to fill my own drink, but to be fair, I drink about 8 glasses of Diet Coke in one sitting. As Pizza Inns, go it's as okay as the one in Smithfield and the old Cary one. As far as pizza goes, I'm just waiting for a great NY style pizza place to come. There is one at exits to the north and south of me, so maybe one day, the dots will be connected.
"From what i understand 93 is not a good grade." I agree with you. In reality it was a 91 with the 2 points for education class. Eating in a restaurant with a plate of food on the floor is ridiculous. There is no excuse for this other than laziness on the part of the wait staff.
We've been a couple of times to Pizza Inn at 40/42, it's been OK each time- not great, but not horrible either. They always seem to be cranking out the pizza pretty fast- so no problems there. And I don't have a problem getting my own drink. I'd put Pizza Inn in the same category as CiCi's Pizza or some other cheap (though PI is NOT that cheap) pizza places in terms of food quality, etc. We went there once when it first opened just to check it out, and have been a couple of times since because my 4 year old son likes to go there. BUT, I'd rather go to Two Cousin's Pizza at Hwy 210 in the Foodlion shopping center any day!! The pizza there is always great, like a different food group than Pizza Inn pizza. We live about 1/2 way between the 2 pizza places, but I'd drive 5x the distance to eat at Two Cousin's. Just wish they'd make it a no-smoking restaurant..... nothing spoils the taste of a good slice of meatball pie like the smoke from a burning Kool!!! (you listening Carlo???) Rig
Meeeeeeeeeeee tooooo! The Smokers & Buddies table is not a plus. Sorry! We love the Pie & The Meatball is the BEST EVER...but that smokey smell is a killer.
