I hear lots of rumors, car lot coming, stop light coming by the Shell station, Commercial getting ready to take over. Can anyone enlighten me as to what is really going on, if anything? Anyone heard any more rumors? Live in the subdivision behind the Shell station, and traffic is already crazy during rush hour. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance...
Haven't heard anything about a car lot, just KFC and....darn, can't think of the other fast food place that's going in up there, Taco Bell maybe? There is a thread about it on here somewhere.
Stopped by McDonalds @ 319 around 2:00 today. I could not believe how busy it was. Nearly every parking spot was taken and there were lines inside and out. If it is that busy mid-afternoon I cannot imagine what the lunch rush is like.
sigh. this makes me angry exit 319 needs more planning before all this happens. Lets hope they don't stretch everything out on one road, making traffic insane. hm..isn't there another place like that..oh yea... *cough* 4042 *cough*
I agree. The traffic at 4042/cleveland and 4042/ drug store is getting CRAZY. Yesterday I was on cleveland rd on the other side where it runs in to hwy 50. WOW, There was a mile or more of traffic and I waited for at least 20 min. at that light. This was at 7:30 a.m. EVERY MORNING>
Heard about the KFC as well.. Do you know about what's going in down at 210 and 50? Where the trash place is they are moving it out and putting in a Bojangles and where the old restaurant is next to CVS there is a Super Wal-Mart going in. I'm pretty sure these are not rumors because it was discussed at one of the meetings in this area. Just some FYI! (The trash place is supposed to be moved down to off of Old Fairground Rd.)
hm...i dunno if that intersection can handle a walmart. lol. there will definitly have to be some major changes in the roads there. i guess it'll be interesting to see what they try to do if they do put on there in the future...speaking of... when is this stuff supposed to happen anyway?
Hot off the presses I heard Six Flags is going in right beside Stephenson's BBQ. Man my property value is going to go through the roof with a wal-mart, home depot, and bojangles coming in. Yeehaw!
Is there a planning commission? I have a question... Does anyone know where/when these meetings take place? And what is the governing body that oversees these meetings? Is it some sort of Planning Commission for Johnston County? Well I guess that's 3 questions LOL! Thanks in advance! Abundant Blessings! Kimberly
It's my understanding that that was a rumor addressed on here before, but memory is bad so I could be wrong. LOL
The meetings have been at the courthouse in the past. I went to one to speak up against the placement of one of the gas stations... and suffice it to say I was not welcomed by the builders and developers. I finally gave up and sold my house when I could sit on the front porch and hear "Welcome to McDonalds, may I take your order?" I'm not criticizing growth in general, but I didn't want it outside my livingroom window
Kimberly, the Growth Planning Committee has scheduled public hearings at the courthouse on Tuesday, January 23 and Tuesday, January 30, at 6:00 p.m. in the old superior courtroom. http://4042.appcomm.net/4042forums/showthread.php?t=11014 I hope you will plan to attend one or both of those hearings.
gee whiz.. i thought they were already working on the Six flags... oh wait - that's just the work they are doing on C3...
SECU Kel, coincidentally enough, I was by there just today! I had to take my SUV to Just Tires to get the tires rotated and decided to walk on over to the Cleveland Cake & Coffee Shop to kill some time while waiting. I noticed some activity and a few cars in the SECU lot. I don't know if what I saw was actual customer activity or just service personnel, but the place did seem to have some sort of pulse LOL! I hope this helps! Abundant Blessings! Kimberly Carter
