   I have found out from our Walmart store they will no longer be carrying the Sewing Department. This is in all of the stores not just clayton. If you are a sewer and crafter please contact your Walmart store and protest of this coming out. I have herd there is one school that uses the store for there education. Now everyone has to drive to pick up there sewing accessories. Please everyone contact your stores and protest of this nature. Upset Crafter. I use this for a business and now look what happens. I was told that the Clayton store is the most in sales and they still want to take this away. We have nothing close to us!
Maybe If we have to go to another city we are taking money out of our community. Think of it this way. Ok this is the total coming out of our community going into another community. One day $219.00 if 10 people did this a month it would be $2190.00 a month now if you did this in one year it would be $26,280.00. Think about this very hard and if you still want to email walmart go for it. Plus someone will loose a job at Walmart. One person less having a job in there own town because we have to go 25 miles one way. Maybe we will get lucky and get a specialty shop now.
I hate to hear they will close their sewing and crafts department. My daughter took two Apparel Development courses at Clayton High and the materials were all held for the students at Walmart. This will make it very hard for the students in future classes to get the patterns they need unless they go all the way to Raleigh or Cary. But, big business makes lots of decisions based only on the almighty dollar instead of what people want or need. Maybe we can suggest to Michaels that they think about opening a sewing department. They already have the crafts.
I am friends with one of the women who work in the crafts dept. She Told me that a couple of weeks ago. She and a couple of others were thinking of openening their own store. If you go to there ask for a Susan Davis, she is a real nice person and give her your support for opening their own store
contacting wal-mart here's the link to contact Wal-Mart. It saddens me that they are closing down the sewing dept. They are one of my many resources for fabric (I do buy a lot on ebay as well as online) http://www.walmart.com/cservice/cu_commentsonline.gsp?cu_heading=8

Properties for a shop There are a couple of available downtown properties that might work very well for a specialty fabric/sewing/crafting shop. If the ladies at the Walmart start their own store with a clientele who already know them and like them and they offer true customer service, they could really make a go of it in a downtown Clayton store. I think a sewing and craft shop would be a wonderful addition to the downtown shops.
^^^ now that's an idea, t4t! We need a sewing/craft store up here. Com'mon Blus, what'dya say? Frogger
