We currently use Time Warner residential RR but RR Lite is advertised at $29.95/month. A significant savings. Does anyone currently use RR Lite and are you satisfied with its performance?
Just spoke with rep at Embarq/Sprint and they informed me that they do not currently offer service in my area but it may be available in a few months. Thanks for the info!
RR also has Road Runner Lite 768 for $24.95 a month. We have been using RR Lite for over a year and find it to be more than sufficient. The only time I noticed it "slow" is when downloading a large file while talking on the phone (we have our phone through the internet).
We have Road Runner lite and have no problems to report with the connection, however watch out for the installers ! We were putting our computer in a room that had no cable wire access, so they had to go under my house to run the wire. Two Days later it was so cold in my room !! Come to find out they had ripped out my air duct and destoyed it! They were kind enough to leave it on the ground and never say a word about it :x
Thanks for the replies. I'm calling Time Warner Monday and ordering RR Lite. Thanks for the heads up, I'm going to shadow the installer when he's under the house. Don't need anymore DIY projects right now!
What:shock::shock::shock: you didn't tell me about that, i trust you called them and gave them he!! and made them take care of it (you know i trained ya right:lol::lol::lol
I bet he doesn't get that many takers on crawling under the house with him. I've only crawled under one house before. I try to avoid any place where I can't stand up and run.
 lol that was a good one Jester! Kaci U know it girl, learned from the best! Unfortunately It was too late to prove they had actually commented the crime so Husband had to crawl under and fix it, O but they did take some $ off next month pymt!
I have RR lite, too. When I first got it, I kept getting disconnected. Since I have Vonage, that meant my phone was disconnected, too. It would just connect/disconnect at will. I finally called about it. Someone came out to check it. It turned out that it wasn't connected properly the first time. The original guy used the wrong part. Works great ever since! Moral of the story: pay attention to make sure everything works right and if not call. Apparently they have some sub-par people working for them.
Fortunately, the design of our house is such that you can stand and walk upright under our house. No, wouldn't want to crawl, too many spiders, etc. Killed a copperhead in our front yard two weeks ago. Change to RR Lite didn't require a housecall. Today, when I checked our messages, Embarq/Sprint left a message notifying me that they have service in our area now but the price seems to be about the same as Time Warner
Is RR Lite the same as Turbo, is that what ya'all are talking about? I want to save some money also but ya got to let me know what I have is not the same as what you have? HUH?
