I need your opinion as I don't really hear lyric very well. There is a popular song called "Crank That Soldier Boy" that most kids like to hear. YouTube is showing a lot of video with that songs people submitted it, including kids. Is the song bad for kids? I'm concern about my kid listening to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZE2OzguWHo
Hey! I've heard the song a few times on the radio, and I know a lot of my friends like it (mostly because it has a new dance that goes to it). Here are the lyrics, though they don't make that much sense... http://www.metrolyrics.com/crank-dat-soulja-boy-lyrics-soulja-boy.html I know the beginning just goes over the moves to the dance and a lot of it is gibberish.... I feel so old saying that! I don't know how accurate the lyrics here are, but this is what I found online. Hope that helps at least a little...!
I never heard of this song until I saw the video on Youtube but it was with lil kids in a ballet class. I didn't care for the music but the one boy in the video sure can move fast and it was somewhat funny. I wish I knew how to attach it on here...I'll see if I can.
Rostrawberry, I just looked up the youtube clip you were talking about. That boy was BREAKING IT DOWN! I wish I could move like that! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SOREx4ZqE7g
Bob and the Showgram did a story on the meaning of the lyrics to this song the other day. Here is the link to the urban dictionary and what the line about "Superman that 'ho'" really means. http://www.bobandtheshowgram.com/cc...=/feed-local.html&instance=1&article_id=85530
Thats the one My jaw just dropped when I first saw the video...was like omg, he can move Good for him but don't care for the music.
do a search for the Urban dictionary Look up superman dat ho skeet skeet skeet and ...pop,lock and drop it It's a good thing our kids don't know what this really means...I think you will be VERY surprised..too graphic to mention here !!!!!!!
Ahhh, Sold-ja boy....my kids love it....I downloaded the 'Radio Version' off of iTunes for my 11 year old sons iPods....I listened and read the lyrics.....they don't know what most of it means....thank goodness...they just love (and know) the dance....what can I say? it's pretty cool along with the dance.....That Sold-ja Boy CAN dance!! Just think about the songs we listened to as kids and IF we knew what they meant, say 'Hotel california' or 'That Smell' just for example...... (you should hear the UNedited version :shock
Call us prudes. We searched the lyrics for this piece of trash. They are unacceptable for our home. We advised DD of that, and explained why, though not in graphic detail. Her rseponse was that she had heard it at school. She thought it was about soldiers. After having soldiers visit the school last week in prep for Veteran's Day, she thought it was all right. Email to principal to let the staff know that this IS NOT a song about soldiers.
My son loves this song and the dance. He has no clue as to what the words are truely saying. However, he is in middle school and will soon learn, but hey didn't we all. I am sure our parents weren't thrilled with our music either. I mean 80's music.... warrant Cherry pie, for example.... come on.
I don't censor too much of my kids music. I do draw the line at songs with vulger words (not slang terms). They know it's music (and not real life) and we leave it at that. I am strict, but have learned to pick my battles. I actually like the music to that song, the girls have taught me the dance too!
GOd!!! Now I gotta break out the acid washed jeans with holes in the knees shredded!!! My Def Leppard T's...and will rock a red bandana wrapped around my ankles!! I will hook up my skullet!!
No disrespect to you Hatteras, but even my kids, (in elementary school) know that the Artists Name is 'Soulja Boy' and the song title is 'Crank That' and that the song has nothing to do with the military....for her to tell you that 'everyone' thought the song was about Veteran's Day..and soldiers....you didn't buy that I hope? and on a side note, I am like Southern Born, while I don't care for some of their music choices, I let them choose, I merely make sure there are no filthy words. Cuz I be in charge of the iTunes store and what gets downloaded on the ipods.....
DAAANNNG!! ...And I was beginning to worry mine were too sheltered! Scratch that... I guess I'm doing ok as far as picking my battles... I remember when DS was in Kindergarten and I heard his classmate singing Laffy Taffy  Mine might not know all the "cool" artists and songs/lyrics but he did receive Perfect Attendance, Honor Roll and Conduct awards today...
If you don't know what "Superman that Ho" means then PM me. You will laugh. If you are a guy.
Well on top of that. DO you really want to listen to a song that says verbatin "Day Dance be uuuugly"??
