Good luck trying to find that around here, You might be able to find a 1 story with a half acre for under 200,000 but anything with a bonus or something like that you will be lucky to find something in low 200's. But then again you might find a good deal.
Welcome aboard! I lives in Flowers Plantation area. We love it here. Speaking of job, we have more openings in USPS (postal). Due to area growth, we desperately need more city carrier and rural carrier. In order to qualify, you need to pass a test first before you get hired. Let me know if you're interested and I can give you the link to get you started. Good luck
Hey cakeprincess, I am new to this board but have been checking it out for awhile now. I also live in Flowers planatation and noticed you mentioned jobs at the usps. I've always had an intereset in the postal service and would like any info you could give me. I've been on the usps website but they don't show as having any positions available in this immediate area. I appreciate any info. Thanks!
For rural carrier job, here's the link for you to click on: https://uspsapps.hr-services.org/ When you see the "continue" button, click it and you'll see the list of the post offices that need rural carriers. Generally, they hired rural carriers every 3 to 6 months, depending on the area growth and staffing in the office. Once you applied online, they will send you a small packet in your mailbox. They'll tell you the exam time and place, plus sample test for you to look at. For city carrier job, the link to click on is: http://www.usps.com/employment/citycarrier.htm In my own opinion, rural carrier job is easier to get in than getting the city carrier job. Clerical job is very difficult to get in. Just thought I let you know.
Clayton Pointe is a tres awesome place to live. But, there's only one house left. All the smart Yankees got here quick. The other two you mentioned are nice as well. I love being in that 'dead' zone between Clayton and Smithfield. Right near the airport. I hope you love it here. I know is do!
You can search for local houses via county, city or subdivision and by various criteria # bedrooms/baths, land, etc... at www.hpw.com (provides a link to map the property) www.fmrealty.com These might help you find some homes to ask your realtor to show you.
Keep in mind the school systems do not always post all their vacancies...especially for more rare positions. You should put a call in to the HR people.
I know there are a couple of houses in my neighborhood that are for sale. One I know is under $200,000. It is 3 BR's and not sure how many baths, but the lost is pretty good size and it does have a 1 car garage. The other house I do not know how much they want for it or really anything about it. Foreclosures are a place to look, but you really never know what all you are getting into.
Here is a Craiglist listing that might fit what you are looking for A LARGE OVER 1800 SQUARE FOOT HOME WITH 4 BEDROOMS, 2.5 BATHS ON AN ACRE LOT! $164,900
Thanks all! My realtor has been great with finding houses in our price range, and you all have been so helpful! From realtor.com and our realtor's website we've found quite a few houses near Little Creek Church Rd and one new neighborhood that suits us (The Gardens). We are steering away from foreclosures. You never know what you are going to get and as first-time homebuyers planning a wedding, we don't have the time, money, or energy to buy a house and have to fix it up (too much). I've heard too many horror stories from friends and family. Haha, I guess I also don't have that knack for adventure! We'll be heading back up to Clayton in March for another round of "window shopping" and looking at the area a bit further! I'm excited to finally get up there and become part of the community!
I've heard FMRealty is more up to date, compared with Realtor.com. Seems Realtor.com takes much longer to update their listings.
My friend just sold her house in the Gardens. She regrets it now, the Gardens is beautiful. We looked out that way but every time we put a bid in some did better. But I have a child and I am really glad we got one here. I prefer the schools out this way. If you plan on children make sure you check out the schools they might be going to. Just for info, I have a 3 bedroom with a 2 car garage and 1.68 acres and I paid under 200,000.
I agree, and FMREALTY.COM lets you type in a street name, name of a subdivision and so on! Seems a little easier to navigate to me!
Have you looked into Heritage Farms or Jordan Ridge?? I do not know much about the subdivision, but I have passed them and they seemed nice. I just know they are in the Garner zip code side of Jo Co (40/42)
