Got on county water last week, as my well is getting ready to go out. Last night was first time I drank the water and it is so awful, impossible to drink. Was wondering if they started the treatment mentioned on here early. Now, I have to pay a water bill, and buy water in bottles to drink.

About 20 years ago the municipal water supply started killing people up in Milwaukee, I called my Mother to make sure she was aware of it and she assured me that she always adds plenty of alcohol to her water!

Is it chlorine you are tasting? I have never been able to get used to county water after being raised on well water. We used a Brita water filter for years and now have a refrigerator with a filter inside so that the water from the door is filtered. I love the filtered water - no taste of chlorine at all and we don't have to buy bottled.

Water Bill and buy bottled water!

Welcome to Jo. co. Water!! We had harnett co. water and we drank that just fine. Jo. county bought the line running down our road and ever since then we have bottled water and don't open your mouth in the shower. Sometimes the SMELL of the water is sickening. (when washing the clothes!)

i bought an under sink filter kit. it runs though the same faucet except there is a little hole where the filtered water comes out. so out of the same faucet i can get regular water and filtered water. we drink and cook with filtered water, washing dishes is done with regular water. i want to say i paid ~110 bones for the faucet
