I am looking to change my current daycare provider. Does anyone have any helpful info. on who to use or to stay away from? Looking for a 2 year old, reasonable priced and around 42 area. Thanks

Little Stepping Stones has been mentioned here before and seems well liked. I do not know what they charge though.

There is a new daycare off of 42 that is a 5 star facility - but I have not heard anything about them good or bad.

Building Blocks is off of White Oak Rd. it is also a 5 star facility.

I would check out the ratings on the above link and then go and check them out.

If you need other then full-time care you may need to check into in home daycares.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

I recommend Building Blocks on Winston Rd, it is right off of White Oak/Cornwallis.

Go to the DHHS website for more information on the daycares you are interested in, you can also request their "files" these will take a few weeks to arrive at your door - but well worth it if you want to know about inspections/complaints.

Stay away from Growing Child, this is the center where the "teacher" dropped the glass babyfood jar, scooped the food off of the floor, and later fed it to the child. I checked this daycare out a few eyars ago when I was looking for childcare for my daughter and I was unimpressed. Bare hard floors, no child-inspiring decor, and a rather bored looking teenager playing with her cellphone while about 5-6 toddlers crawled around her.

We loved KRK but that isn't too close to 40/42 area. My son went there from the time they opened (12/05) until he graduated from their preschool in May of this year. He still goes for teacher workdays sometimes and will go for summer camp.

Recommended In Home Five Star Day Care Clayton

Ms. Debbie's in home Daycare is great. She has been in business since 1989 and only accepts five kids at most. Kids have their own dedicated room with bathroom built just for them. Her business is licensed by the state of North Carolina. She is convenient to Clayton and can be reached at 919-550-6101. Her state license ID# is 51000579 and can be verified at http://ncchildcaresearch.dhhs.state.nc.us/search.asp. I would recommend her to any one wanting great child care in a small setting.

My daughter went to Stepping Stones at 40/42 until we moved to Riverwood. Ms. Tina was the teacher at that time. We loved it there. Now Ms. Tina runs the 2nd location on Cleveland School Rd. We still go by to visit. She is the most loving and caring person. She really cares about the kids. I would recommend them to anyone.

Another vote for Little Stepping Stones II. They are all great there. It takes my daughter 10-15 min each day just to leave because she has to go visit everyone on the way out.
