My daughter went to the Eastern 4-H Camp last year and loved it, but I would like to find some other options as well to expand her experiences. I saw in the Total Connection paper this week a camp called Camp Oak Hill - has anyone had any experience with this camp? What other camps have your kids gone to and what were their impressions - good or bad? I am also considering sending my son for the first time this year... Any experiences for a younger child first time camper? Thanks.
Okay, does anyone know someone or somewhere that I could find information in regards to some of these camps? I have looked online and sure the websites have quotes from former campers, but come on would you put anything negative about your business on your website? I would like to get info from someone who knows first hand... Even if there are some local churches that do camps... Thanks
my kids are 11 and have been to Camp Kanata http://www.campkanata.org/ twice, ABSOLUTELY loved it and still talk about it.financial assistance is available. They also will be returning to Camp Millstone (4H) for the 2nd year this summer and love love love that too. (http://www.millstone4hcamp.org/sspage.htm) I have close friends who have kids who have attended Camp Seagull and Camp Seafarer (also YMCA affiliated) and they have returned and loved it. http://www.seagull-seafarer.org/
My kids have been to Camp Don Lee www.donleecenter.org for several years. They love it, especially sailing camp. It's pretty reasonable pricewise and you can choose one week or two. It's in Arapahoe, the other side of New Bern on the Pamlico Sound. It's a Methodist - based camp.
summer camp Camp Albemarle in Newport, NC is alot of fun. I went to that camp every summer for 6 years straight. Loved it and have such great memories of that place. Check out their web-site. Have fun! www.campalbemarle.org
