Haven't you always wanted your very own angry minion? Well, now is your time to own your very own, not-very-well-trained, one-of-a-kind, angry cockatiel-model minion.

His name is Gir, after a robotic minion. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, Gir has become an irritating, misbehaving minion. I have another cockatiel/non-minion named Zim, who is very sweet, who is getting the snot kicked out of him daily by Gir. I have stopped allowing them outside of the cage together, because all they do is fight.

Gir has a habit of pulling all of his own tail feathers and flight feathers out, but other than that, he is a pretty good-looking feathered warrior. He'll happily bite through your skin and into your bones, as long as he's not stranded on the floor (which he is quite often), in which case he'll come to you and hop onto your finger. If you attempt to pull him out of his cage, he will flop around like an epileptic at a disco, until he falls out of the cage and onto the floor. I've had him for over a year, so I know his erratic behavior. If you're lucky enough to catch him in the right mood when he's not trying to fly into a window without any ability to fly, and manage to pick him up and hold him still, you'll probably be lucky enough to hear the awful noise he makes when he thinks he's trapped.

I have no idea what went wrong with this particular model. My other bird is FINE. I've been trying to fix Gir's behavioral problems since I got him, with absolutely no success. He's irate, he's grumpy, he's bitey, and he's obviously trying to drive me insane. If he's separated from his buddy, Zim, he squawks at an unbelievably high volume that could probably make your enemies' heads explode.

So, do you think you're up to the task of owning your own malfunctioning minion? If you are, email me, and you can take him ab-sol-ute-ly free. Please note that this does not include a cage, food, toys, or other items that belong to my other bird. He's already destroyed all of the toys he was able to wrap his ****y little beak around, and I really can't afford to keep replacing them. He also refuses to eat anything but millet and sunflower seeds. Go ahead and put real food in the cage for him, he'll eat around it.

I do have a spare cage that needs cleaning and a little bit of creative bending. Gir managed to bend the bars around, so it would only be temporary for him either way. You'd have to get a stronger one eventually so he didn't strangle himself like he tried to with his last one.

Please, someone, anyone, email me and take this bird before he destroys my life any further.

    Thanks.

P.S. The only thing I will need from a new owner is proof that he will be taken care of and not thrown across the room. I want to see the new cage you purchased for him and the toys he's going to get to play with. I want to know that you have previous experience with these animals and that you're going to have plenty of time to spend with him. Yes, Gir drives me insane, but that doesn't mean I want him dead. I will send pictures upon request, but please note that taking this bird is no guarantee that he will warm up to you, or anyone else, and no, I'm not going to take him back if things don't "work out." If you want him, he's your responsibility.

 I'm not getting a real warm and fuzzy feeling from that minion.
The owner does seems to care...slightly. Too funny.

It was late, I'd had a long day, and it made me laugh! The poor bird! At least he's being honest about the bird's issues! That's refreshing.

    OMG...Where's Kaci?

She's the resident bird expert, I bet she could calm him down..assuming her DH wouldn't kill her for taking in another featherless friend.

I just busted out laughing while I was reading that here in my office. Creative as heck, and you have to give the owner props for being totally upfront about the behavioral problems, and caring about the future ownership of the bird. I'm still laughing over it...
