Has anyone recieved yours yet? Was thinking the first ones were to be sent out May 2 for serial numbers ending in 00-20. That was if you had your refund Direct Deposit.
Did not see ours. Maybe we have to wait for the paper one, which is May 23 for us.

Here is the link for the schedule. http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180250,00.html

    rebate checks

If you check the www.irs.gov website and click on where's my stimulus rebate -- it will tell you online when and how much you are going to receive --
mine was supposed to be direct deposited also and found out today that they mailed it --

Hmmm I am a little confused. It says our check will be less than what we thought it would be. We don't owe any back taxes or anything.

They based it off your 2007 return. If you received less, or had some kind of adjustment made, you should receive a written explanation in the mail by the IRS.

    H & R Block & Turbo Tax

I heard today that people that used Turbo Tax (or any program that takes the filing fee from your refund) or H & R Block in some cases, will probably get checks thru mail instead of direct deposit.
    Bummer!!
Here's some info I copied from a website.......

Thursday, 5/1/08 UPDATE: Important alert for H&R Block Filers:

According to H&R Block's website, if you received your tax refund on an Emerald Debit Card, your Rebate will be loaded on your Emerald card too.

However, if you used a Refund Anticipation Loan or used the H&R Block Bank in any way, you will have to wait for a paper check in the mail.

Many H&R Block filers tell me they were anticpating a Direct Deposit, but have now been informed they will have to wait for a paper check. See the dates below.

Thursday, 5/1/08 UPDATE: Important alert for Turbo Tax Filers:

If you filed by TurboTax, you may end up in the same situation as H&R block filers (see above).

If TurboTax's Santa Barbara Bank handled your money in any way -- such as taking your refund, or paying your filing fees -- then TurboTax says you will not get a Direct Deposit. You will have to wait for a paper check.

I'm confused (nothing unusal about that................). I used Turbo Tax, I had direct deposit, I checked the website under the link for "Where's My Refund" and it said it would be direct deposited on a certain day.

Anyone else use Turbo Tax? Have you gotten your via direct deposit?

My understanding was it depends on if your refund went thru Santa Barbara Bank,,,,some turbo tax users did. Here's a copy from an article that may help.....

Because Santa Barbara Bank & Trust is technically getting your tax refund direct deposit from the IRS, you won’t get your stimulus payment by direct deposit. That’s because the US Treasury doesn’t have your bank information because TurboTax didn’t send it to them.

Because of the timing of the Economic Stimulus Payment Package most tax preparation companies didn’t have a chance to prepare for it. So in TurboTax’s defense, they probably just didn’t have time to make it work.

Hmmmm, I don't know, seems like there would have been something about it on some of the major news sites if that were the case. Time will tell, I "should" be getting mine soon.

    I didn't know this:
Will the tax rebate be considered income and will I be taxed on it next year on my 2008 return?[IMG]
No and no. The tax rebate is an ADVANCE CREDIT for tax year 2008 and will be calculated on your 2008 return. If you're due a higher payment, you'll get the remainder next year when you file. If you received a higher rebate (payment) than you should have, you DO NOT have to pay it back.
