I know there are threads on here, and just read through some of them, and now I'm a little confused... My doctor recommended I go get my skin checked at a dermatologist, and Azalea was one of the ones he mentioned in Garner. I see a lot of people on here unhappy with Azalea, but they didn't mention which one, and I think there are several. So if you wouldn't mind, please just let me know if this is the one in Garner that you're unhappy with. I'd also like to know if there are others in the immediate area (Garner, Clayton) that you do recommend, I hate having to drive into Raleigh or Cary for a doctor if I don't have to! Thanks!
My husband went here for some questionable areas; it was packed with patients. He felt like cattle going to slaughter; not a "patient friendly" practice at all.
There is one in Four Oaks. Near the rail road tracks. Don't remember the name...Sorry, it's been at least 5-6 years since I've been there.
Yeah, Four Oaks is really far away from me, thanks though. I can't find anything online except Azalea, one in Cary and one in Chapel Hill. One in the yellow pages on Lake Boone. Not sure which way I'll go yet...It's just a mole check, I can handle bad customer service, it's everywhere these days. But if for some reason they ended up finding something, and it turned into something that needed more (hopefully that won't happen, but you never know), then I wouldn't want some of the things I read about on here to happen to me!
Just call Duke - especially if it is anything questionable... I have been to the Azeala place - no and one on Blue ridge road - who did allergy tests - then said oh well can't fix that... Lake boone trail - wanted me to worry about botox instead of my itchy arms...all cosmetic Finally I gave up and went to duke- yes it killed a few hours but now I have me regular prescribing the creams that she gave me and they work terrific for my eczema. You can hardly tell at all -I am very grateful.
I would reccomend making the drive. I use to take my son to the Polly clinic in Smithfield. BIG waste of time. The woman was sooooo nice and we saw her a few times but my sons skin would NOT clear up so they had us see Dr. Polly himself who turns out to be - in my opinion- an arrogant ---. I left there calling my pediatrician and went to UNC. There we saw the dr and he diagnosed him in a few minutes and gave me a cream that is working well. His skin is clearing up nicely. Good Luck!
Dr. Edward Burton up near North Hills is a good one to see. I have been several times and he is a good one.
I have been to several and out of all of them, there was only one that I would return to. They were professional, friendly, and I felt comfortable there. Here is the link: http://www.dermcenter.org/
A lot of you are talking about some serious skin issues here. I've never been to a derm before, so not sure what to expect, but I'm just planning on going to get a mole check done, and probably get a couple removed (I've had a couple removed at my regular dr office before, so I know that's not a big deal). That's why I hate to travel an hour away just for something like that...
That's what I had done at the place that I referenced previously. I went in because I had a couple moles that looked sketchy, they did a biopsy on them, found traces of melanoma and removed them. I understand it's quite a distance from 40/42, but I haven't seen a dermatologist in years and I need an exam and that's definately where I'll go. I'd rather travel a little more distance and know that they are being thorough then years down the road find something that had been looked over.
