I don't have any experiences, however, I will this year due to my son made the team as one of the 7th graders. We will just have to see how it goes. As long as he has fun, learns and works hard at keeping his spot on the team then I think everything will be fine.
My son made the team last year as a 7th grader, and made the team this year. He didn't get much playing time, as he'd never played football before (on a team). Hopefully this year he will. The coaches are okay - they expect you to work hard at practice. They yell some, but not as much as I've seen from other school's coaches. Overall it was a good experience since he wanted to go out for the team this year.
