Nagin just issued the Mandatory Evacuation orders.

Hopefully the disaster of 3 years ago can be averted.

Let's all keep those poor folks and the others in the storms path in our prayers.

Been a little on pins and needles. My son is at Biloxi MS and he told me that they had been ordered to buy non parishables to last for 4 to 7 days, to keep their phones and computers charges and to pack for 4 to 7 days and be ready to either head to a shelter or evacuate. He keeps trying to reassure me, but being a mom....

Definitly am keeping those people in my prayers....

So far from what I have seen all different agencies of the government are working together to make sure this is an organized evacuation. They have had a few problems doing this but they are trying.

Our thoughts are with all of them.

yeah, if only he properly did it the first time it maybe wouldn't of been quite as bad. A good plan goes a long way.

Is he in the Air Force? If so thank you and let him know that.

Bush and Cheney have canceled plans to go to St. Paul.

I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing for the Gulf Coast residents.

Yes he is in the Air Force. He called me this morning and told me they were definitly moving into a shelter today and that I may not hear from him for a few days but will call me as soon as he can. He said it was getting pretty bad in their area and they were not allowed to leave their surrounding areas, except to go to the chow hall and eat.

Greatest thing that could have happened for McCain's chances.

Yeah, looks like it's gonna keep Bush & Cheney away from the convention.

Saw where the water is going over the levies. Also, saw houses under water. Our thoughts are with all of these people.

Talked to my dad in Pensacola and earlier they had some bad storms but right now it looks as though the sun is trying to come out. Please keep him in your thoughts as he is alone. He's in his 80s and still drives up here but I hate him being alone right now.

Others actually have it worse than him so please concentrate on them and we will on him.

    Thoughts,
    Sherry

The 43d AES will probably be out there helping. Haven't heard from them this morning, but don't expect to see anyone tomorrow. We got the heads-up Friday that, depending on the weekend, they may not be able to make it up here tomorrow.
