I want to have a house scraped. Has anyone hired someone to do this? Do they charge per room or a package for the whole house? How fast can it be removed.

Anyone with any experience please post up. Thanks

I read somewhere that you just spray water on it and let it soak and then it scrapes right off.

We bought a house a year ago that was a HUD foreclosure. It had been sitting empty for 2 years. Some of the popcorn ceiling was falling (or had already peeled away completely.) It took 6 of us a week to scrape, mud, sand and paint the entire 1st floor. Unfortunately, it didn't occur to us to spray water on it. If we had, it would have been much easier and far less messy!!
Of course hiring someone would have been easier but this was our first house and it needed a LOT of work before we could move in.

That's what my SIL did to hers. She said it came right off.

They sell a tool at Home Depot that takes it right off. As of yesterday, it was located at the far end of the store near the checkouts on the last display near building supplies. You'd have to be facing the parking lot from inside the store - that direction.
