Linens N' Things in White Oak is closing. Up to 30% off all merchandise. Maybe we will get a nice book store. http://www.newsobserver.com/business/story/1258304.html
Yep, read and heard about this. Heard of another chain doing the same thing today. It's sad that Linen's and Things could not be bought by Bed, Bath and Beyond. I sure love those two stores. Hope Linens and Things has stuff left nearing December because I am holding out for drop dead prices...tee hee. Saddened, Sherry P.S. Gonna miss that massage chair in the one at White Oaks. Would give the teen the list of items and I would sit in the chair. Teen is thinking about buying it for me.........oh yeah!
Always sad to see a store go under. Went there today expecting to see everything marked down and was surprised to see hardly any customers and not much really marked down. They are currently marking down items from 10-30%. Well, it seemed like everything I was interested in was only marked down 10%. That wouldn't be bad except they won't take their own 20% off coupons during the liquidation!! So in effect I would have to pay 10% more for the same item that I would have normally bought for less!! Not. So long LNT.
Thanks for the update everyone. Hopefully this Thread will stay alive long enough for those of us interested so that we catch good sales. People are holding onto money and waiting so surely it will come in spurts. Sherry
It was packed Friday night. Not much marked down. Only saw a few things at 20%, nothing at 30% from what I can recall. Did not know they were going out of business until we went in, to pickup a few things needed, saved a few bucks. :hurray:
I went in there yesterday and tried to buy clearance stuff. The cashier said oh the stuff marked clearance isn't really clearance anymore, Its now full price. Don't think I will go back unless its later on when they have stuff marked down more than 30%.
Went there yesterday myself and saw that they had "marked up" prices and put UPC with new prices over the old...watch what kind of "deal" you are getting!
This is probably because all sales are being handled by the liquidation companies involved and not LNT anymore. Here's a good article on the liquidation taking place.
