I have been going to the same doctor for 5+ years. He's a nice guy but he doesn't seem to want to treat issues. I also have a hard time getting an appointment. Can anyone(preferably a guy) recommend a guy doctor.
There are a ton of threads on here on this subject, I'd say just do a search! I'm not a guy, but my husband is (lol!) and he loves Dr Williams at Horizon Family. My whole family goes to Horizon, but me and the kids see Dr Harris and we love him too. They are both male doctors.
Family Doctor I'm not a guy either but Dr. Lapinskes @ Benson Area Medical is the BEST. They always see me on time and he takes the time to talk to you.
Piedmont Medical in Raleigh, 878-0900, off of Old Wake Forest Rd behind Raleigh Comm Hospital-Dr. Carr. We have used Piedmont Medical for about 15 years and they have never told us when we called sick and needed to see a Dr that they could not see us that same day. Plus, I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes when I had an appointment. We usually see Dr Joan Britt (LOVE HER!!) but have seen Dr Carr several times and he is also very good. BTW, Hubby likes both Doctors.
Which one? I see Dr. Joan Meehan at Clayton Medical and love her. She is interested in getting to the bottom of any issues you have, if she doesn't know, she'll refer you to someone who does. Her ex-husband is also Dr. Meehan, he's got an office on Amelia Church. I've heard good things about him, but haven't seen him personally.
I haven't seen any of the male doctors in forever, but I've never had a problem with Garner Family Practice. There are a lot of doctors so you could see which one fits and I've never had a problem getting an appointment etc.
I was sure I replied to this post but I do not see the post.Garner Internal Medicine in White Oak. I see Steven Turner. Jeffrey Breiner is also good and James McCann is a excellent PA. Turner and Breiner are Board Certified Internal Medicine Physicians. 773-1223
My experience was HORRIBLE. I have other serious medical issues that I see a specialist for at Duke. I went to him because I needed someone local. He had serious issues with respecting my other doctor's opinions and would never accept scan results or xrays from duke - always wanted to order his own scans, which is stupid. Same with bloodwork, same with most everything. My friend went to him and instead of him recommending a surgeon to do a biopsy of a lump on her head, he tried to do it in his office and ended up screwing it up. I don't know, I guess if its just a normal, routine visit it might be just fine - he does have lots of patients. He just wasn't at all what I was looking for in a doctor. Now I go to Horizon and have been seen by Harris, his PA, Dawkins and someone else (don't remember who). The appointment lady is aggravating as all get-out, but they do get me in everytime that I need it, they do return phone calls, and I have really liked all of the office staff (except for whomever answers the dang phone...) I love that they do their own xrays and that they do their own bloodwork and such instantly....
Jodi Winkle, MD - Garner Family Practice on Poole Road (that's sort of near the Wake Co. Library). It's a big practice, the building is new and the staff is nice. Been going there 4 years and have NO complaints. 779-1440 or garnerfamilypractice.com
