Who has the best price on a Nintendo DS?

Keep an eye on TRU, as they've had some sales this year on the DS Lite and games. In mid-February it was 25% off the DS Lite. This past week they had some games at 2 for $30 (although I've been seeing a lot lately about how it's easy to pirate the DS games...I have no real information or opinion on that). If you're a Kohl's cardholder, you could keep an eye out for a 20% or 30% coupon in the mail and get one there. If I remember correctly the last few coupons didn't exclude them.

Also, if you don't mind the regular DS versus the Lite, I would look for a used unit. Check places like Gamestop, Craigslist, etc.

I was at Babys R Us the other day and I swear I think in the circular it said 25% of nintendo ds. I didn't even know they had them, but call the store and see.....

I'd think the prices would be dropping soon because there's a newer version coming out (if it's not yet released ... not sure yet).

What I've found is that most places run the DS lites at $130. Sometimes you'll find "bundles" with games or accessories but that's usually around the holidays. You can find them used at places like Game Stop but they are so close to the price of new ones and there's no warranty with them. The new DS Lites are $180 and have two cameras and internet access with Wii (which is not a good thing for my kids). I bought my kids DS Lites at Best Buy. If you have their reward zone card, you get points for every dollar spent and free coupons arrive in the mail/e-mail in increments of $5. They offer a 2-year service plan for $20. My daughter dropped her's in the garage and it never worked again...replaced for free. My son's lid hinge broke...replaced for free. And don't forget to buy the screen shields to protect the screen against scratches as the kids play. They cost $5 - easily worth it.
