Okay, embarrassing question about my son. As you can see by the title, he has stinky feet. Now, I'm not just talking your typical smelly feet. These could literally be used to wipe out an army. Not joking. Ask anyone who knows about this issue w/ him--LOL. Okay, he's 6yo. We've tried everything from sprays to pine-sol to old remedies on his feet. He gets a bath every night. Any suggestions? We've thrown shoes out, socks out, tried it all. No fungus or anythign growing. Anyone else have this issue and if so, what did you do? We don't even keep his shoes inside b/c it is that bad. Neighbors' kids play and beg him to put his shoes back on if he's on the trampoline. It's nuts! Thanks in advance for advice and/ or suggestions on smelly feet.

Do his feet itch? If so it could be athletes foot and that can be cured by the spray at any drug store. We have this problem in our house due to the teen swimming and walking around barefoot.

Well, as summer is approaching, get him a pair or two of sandles. My ds' feet sweat and I swear you can see the stench rolling off of his shoes when he takes them off. It gets so much better in the summer when the sandles allow some ventilation. I try to stick with either high quality leather or crocs (which can just be wiped with Clorox).

For now, make sure to rotate his shoes so that each pair has a day to air out between uses. Spray inside with a disinfectant and allow to dry completely. Buy athletic socks that will enable his feet to breathe, and get either odor fighting insoles or powder to use while he's wearing the shoes.

I believe soaking them in Vinegar will help. Seems like I have heard that before.

Try washing his feet with tomato juice, it seems to help reduce the skunk
stench on dogs after having a run in with one

I have also read several places that soaking the feet in tea, yes, tea can help. It's the tannin that does something. I haven't tried it, but seems like it can't hurt and won't cost much. Google!

let his feet air dry real well after every bath, swimming lesson, pool session etc.....

try thiner socks not thick athletic socks.

make sure his dress shoes aren't synthetic but real leather.

make sure his sneakers/tennis shoes have breathable netting ( usually only available during the summer only.)

but the most important thing is making sure his feet air dry after each and every time they get wet. so no foot powder, socks. this should make a big difference.

    good luck

The lesson I was taught as a youngster and I found holds true is that in addition to the above, you should not wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row. This allows the shoes to properly dry out and drastically extends the life of the shoes.

Make sure he's actually washing his feet in the shower! I have found that was an issue. They really gotta wash 'em, not just TELL you they did.

keep baking soda in the shower and have him wash his feet with it during each shower.
The shoe rotation is very important! Maybe even sprinkle some baking soda in his shoes!

Imagine what his feet will smell like when he is an adult. P---uuuuuuuuu!!!! lol

    Stinky feet....

My brother in law swears by filling the tub, put a cap full of bleach in and sticking his feet in.
