I went to see it with my wife and son and really enjoyed it. I'm not exactly sure it was as complex a story as some in the past but it had a lot of emotions in it and like one or two of the Pixar stories before it, reminded me of what is most important in life. Perhaps the greatest lesson it teaches is that the greatest adventures are those you experience day in and day out with ones you love. Also, true to form, the Pixar short story at the beginning is great. It's called Partly Cloudy and I think it was the most funny short I've seen to date.
if you have a spouse or children and you are not moved to tears by the first 20 minutes of the movie, you are made of stone. this won't ruin it for anyone because it's really just the setup part for the rest of the story, but for 15 minutes not a word is spoken while this couple lives their entire lives, from childhood to old age. ups, downs, riches, poverty, joy, anticipation, disappointment, devotion, love. i wept like a schoolgirl. more than once. and the rest of the movie, the story part, is also very good. funny, original, well done. easily as good as cars or nemo.
Glad to hear guys liked it too! It was SOOOOO good and we also really enjoyed the short at the beginning. Thinking about seeing it again and will DEFINITELY buy it when it is released to video!
