I know, it's sad they still have to have the "right" clothes, etc. I try to make sure I don't dress DS like a dork, but some of the stuff out there he's not going to wear. Period. I think it's just worse for the girls. But all kids are mean, there was some little twerp at the pool last week picking on DS. I wanted to whack him upside the head, but I restrained myself. DS has to learn to fight his own battles. Mommy won't be there his whole life to intervene.
You are so right kaci. I do the exact same thing. I can't afford 100 bucks for a pair of shoes. Eek!! He approached me about cleats yesterday - we have to do the same thing with those. I set an amount I am willing to spend and if he wants something different, he has to cough up the rest.
I want my girls to do what they're interested in. My oldest loves sports and my youngest loves dance. Life is full of insecure people who have to brag about themselves. I just deal with it, but it's still annoying!
I am really protective of my kids but I do know they have to fight their own battles but when there is a kid who is just a plain and simple brat and they say or do something to my kids, it's all I can do not to go over there and whip the tar out of em. And that saying is definitely correct, no one does think your kids are as pretty or handsome or cute as you do.
