We paid about 1/2 (maybe less?) than that this past yr, but we got the total portrait package they were offering at the time, inc the dvd, pic frames, lots of diff poses/sizes etc. had plenty of pics for invitations/announcments, friends and relatives. Most of the time once you start picking and choosing different photos and sizes, it ends up being a better deal to get the package.

No, its not a typo. we went to a very good photographer. they went to diffrerent places to have her pictures taken including the beach, lake, railroad tracks. i think we ended up with 5 different poses with an outfit for each. These pictures are not required but a lot of the students do it.

That is ridiculous!!!! I hope one who pays these prices is not complaining - there are things one does not need to make it through the year. Kudos to you for being able to give you child a memorable senior year, especially with the sr. pictures at $1,500 (who the heck is taking them -- I'm sure we have enough photo guru's on here that would tag along for far less that that).

I'm not sure they even offer this anymore. When my ds was a Sr (5yrs ago), they didn't get enough students that were interested and it didn't cost that much. My dd just graduated in June and they didn't offer it at all - they had other senior events on campus that were covered by a Sr fee, something like $20 a student?

That's right. I'm thinking some of what you all are posting should change that perspective though.

And Stephanie...I SO agree with your post
