They are doing a few this year. I believe three total and are in Smithfield and Selma I think. Have no idea if it will become a trend or not. Anyone else know? stephanie--mom to 7
as i have said before, if they could guarantee all children in the family on one track it could be manageable but from what i understand in Wake that is not usually the way it happens.
I don't know all the ones I know have the kids on the same track, I mean I am not going out trying to get them but as many people moving into the area its only a matter of time and I could care less about it. I'm a just roll with it kind a gal :jester:
I don't know of anyone with kids on different tracks except when it comes to families with high school kids, but those can choose traditional calendar for their middle and elem kids.
There is only the 2 Smithfield schools, Selma did not do it. The kids are doing well and seem to really like it. My sister-n-law is a teacher at one of the schools and she says its been great. It really is not year round. They will still have 6 weeks off during the summer. 2 weeks off in October, 3 weeks off at Christmas and 2 weeks off at Spring break. Does not sound too bad to me.
