What still amazes me more than anything, is how in every story it says "economist suprised by ________ going up or down". they are always suprised be it good or bad. how can i get the job where i can be suprised by the results each month, when i am supposed to be an expert at that subject?

Mark, what you really want to have is a one handed economist. That way, they can't say, "Well, on the other hand..." LOL

But, the thing is, economics attempts to add reproducible science to human behaviors...so necessarily, one has to take everything with a large grain of salt.

This is similar to the Easley hearings last week where most called to testify stated “I can’t recall”.
Thing is my job requires me to go to court to testify sometimes and I need to remember thing up to 7 years ago if not I would lose my job!!!???? I want a job with no accountability …. Guess I should work in government!!

you would think being suprised over and over would make your bosses wonder if you knew what you were doing. I know i can't have suprises, even good ones. Steady ship is what i need.
