How to safely stand in the middle of a road

This site can be kinda addictive....they have tied into Google maps and Street View to make it easy to navigate around.

Here's the view from our favorite intersection:

Google has been busy with adding to the Street View. I was able to find every house/place I had lived, schools, etc. since the 2nd grade...including a small town in Nova Scotia. (They have added a number of other countries). 8)

That's cool! You can double click and the view will scoot you down the road!

 

Feature is built into the Droids phone with it's integrated Google Maps.

 

Street view creeps me out. Always has.

 

How is this different than plain old Google maps? It seems as though all this site does is embed the street view application and then charge for advertising. Am I missing something about this site?
