Where to take old refrigerators...

    Anyone know where or how to dispose of refrigerators in Johnston County?

    To the dump, if you have a permit you can also take it to the satellite centers.

    I think the convenience centers will take white goods without a permit since you pay an NC disposal fee when you buy them new.

    Thanks for the information Jennifer do you know where you can recycle/dispose of household battereis?

    Again the satellite waste repositories (Such as the one on Barbers Mill) and the dump.

    I thought the satellite places only took car/lawn mower type batteries. Do they take small batteries (AAA, C, D, etc), too?

    Wheter they officially take them or not, they do! Residential folks are typically allowed to dump Universal Waste in the landfill (I believe NC allows it also). I will try and check on it tomorrow when I make a run.
