Just wanted to let our community know about a very talented local group of girls who has received a great honor. The Premier Clayton Shockers Senior Hip Hop team was awarded a bid to the Dance Worlds to be held at Epcot on April 24-25. This is like the Super Bowl for all-star cheer and dance teams. There will be over 30 countries participating in both cheer and dance. The Premier Shockers will be the first all-star dance team to represent North Carolina at this very prestigious event and the girls are very excited to make JoCo proud! They have been practicing endless hours to prepare for success at this prestigious competition. The gym and the team have been fundraising to gain the $15,000 needed to send the 21 team members to the competition but we need the support of the community. Any donation from $10 to $1000 will help. In a society where kids are so easily caught up in the bad examples set by some professional athletes, rock stars and super models, it is important to have memories like these to hold onto. It is important to have goals and a good work ethic to achieve those goals. The Shockers have put in the work and the time to be awarded with such an honor. Please help us to raise the funds! Premier Athletics is located on Guy Road between 42 and Amelia Church if anyone would like to contribute. In addition, this Saturday, March 13, the gym is holding their annual exhibition of all 20 of our cheer and dance teams (from Tiny to Seniors) at Clayton High School at 2:30 p.m. All ticket proceeds will go to the fundraising effort. It’s $20 at the door but only $12 adult and $10 child if you stop in at the gym for tickets in advance. Come out and see what these talented kids can do. Also, we are holding a yard sale at the gym on Saturday, March 20 in the morning. If you have items to contribute or just want to come shop, all proceeds will again go to the fundraising. Thanks! You should be a proud parent & congrats since they beat our team for the bid... LOL However,,,,,Elite Cheer & dance has several children from the JOCO area going to WORLDS on a FULL paid bid the same week for Cheer. We will be there supporting your dance team at Epcot but the cheer squads are perfoming at the ESPN Wide World of Sports so see you there & best of luck & hope it is a huge success for raising the $$
