Anyone have first hand knowledge of White Oak Shores or Goose Creek Campgrounds near Emerald Isle, or Lanier's near Surf City? Safe? Fun? Family-friendly? Decent with rules enforced (no all-nighters)? Other places that may be better? I would love to hear from you if you have visited recently or have a place there. Thanks!
We have camped at White Oak Shores many times. The Comers own this and previously owned Goose Creek Resort years ago. We had a permanent site at Goose Creek but sold when we couldn't get down there enough to justify the money. We know people who have permanent places there now, but we found it to be too crowded for our liking to overnight camp there. They do have a nice pool and huge waterslide that even adults like. We just found it a bit more rowdy atmosphere. We love White Oak Shores! They have beautiful sites with landscaping, a nice pool complete with a waterslide for the kiddos and a kiddie pool too, and a beautiful pier that goes out on the White Oak River. It's about a 10-15 minute ride to Emerald Isle from WOS. We have never had an issue with a "party crowd" when we have been there; things quiet down in the evening. They have planned activities on some weekends. Of the two, I'd pick White Oak Shores in a heartbeat.
Thank you Luvgoose1!! I appreciate the feedback. We are going to get down there and check things out! I found a friend on FB last night who camps at White Oak and says that they love it there too! Thanks again!:hurray:
Campgounds at Coast I considered the same two campgounds, Goose Creek and White Oak Shores, I stayed at Goose Creek a couple of times with some friends of ours and then stayed at WOS with my own travel trailer and winner was White Oak Shores and that was three years ago. I now have my travel trailer there permanent and my family thoroughly enjoy it there. They have a large pool(with slide), a pier that extends out over a hundred yards into the White Oak River, they have a natural landing for launching a small boat, bingo on Sat nights, horseshoes, corn bag games, restricted access to general public, kid friendly. Everyone there are really friendly and a 11pm quiet time. Here is the link to WOS. http://www.whiteoakshores.com/
Thanks for the feedback Bubba!! I am excited and can't wait to get down there and check it out!! We are trying to decide if we want to buy an existing set up there or buy a camper/travel trailer and place it there permanently. We are new to camping/campgrounds, so this will be an experience! Thanks again for the input!
