Anyone have any old indoor/outdoor paint hanging around in a garage/shed/etc that would like a new home? Fall is when I start my "indoor" stuff and since the kids are back in school (YEAH!) I'm hoping to paint some stuff...but would love to use what's already out there. Also, can never make up my mind about colors and such so perhaps I'll kill off the "don't know" concept!! Will pick up if anyone has any to donate! LOL! Thanks! Tiff
Go to the free section of craiglist. There was an ad there yesterday for a several gallons of free paint, various colors!
How much paint do you need? I know we have half a can of green left over from painting dd's walls last week. And I think we have a little more than half a can of light blue left over from ds' walls, but I'll have to double-check on that with dh. It's the Kilz interior and definitely only needed one coat. With one can we did two long walls in dd's room and the entire guest bath. Ds' room needed a little more than one can b/c we did all four walls and part of the ceiling is vaulted. Consumer Reports recommended the Kilz interior paint as a best buy. I saw mixed reviews online, but we decided to give it a shot anyway, since it was much cheaper than Behr. And we really loved it. My only complaint would be that it is hit or miss in getting someone who knows what they are doing at Walmart. The first guy we had was awesome. The next guy (when we went back to pick out ds' colors) had no clue. They were out of the base paint that we needed, so we checked out a different Walmart. Ultimately finally found the base paint at one near dh's work, and someone who knew what they were doing. So just watch out for that if you decide to give them a try.
