I have a dress that's probably 20 year's old that I just love. I'd like to find someone that can take measurements of the dress, make a pattern without taking the dress apart, identifiy the fabric it's made of and then make me 4-5 exactly the same as the original from new fabric. Anyone know of someone that's good and reasonable? Thanks.

Have you tried the Tailor on 42 in Peddllers Village? I don't know that she could do it but I am forever taking in little things and I think she does great work for a reasonable price. Some things she has done immediately at no charge. 919-779-7778

There's a lady who runs a shop in Garner .. she is

great & has been there for over 20 years.

Name of business is Custom Sew & Thrifty Threads. She is reasonably priced & gets it done in a reasonable amount of time.

Give the business a call -- 919-662-8770. She's located on Hwy 50 with easy access to get in and out of the parking lot.

I can do it, but I'd need to find the time. How quickly do you need them?

You might be better off looking at vintage clothing on ebay or etsy

I bought two pair at D i c k s Sporting goods in the fishing section. They went in new tackle boxes with other various lures and gear for my kids for Easter.

i do not recommend Custom Sew...
She tried to take me for a dress I had on consignment there. Never contacted, or sent me anything until I raised holy hell about, where was my dress...if not in store, then you sold it..... Finally got a few bucks for it. Much less then I requested the dress sell for. Never again.

    Yuck ....

I've never dealt with her on consignment issues but her sewing I've done many times & never had issues.
