    Jason Vance Jenkins

Jason Vance Jenkins has been doing this for years and he is still out. Here is a timeline for this guy. Calm Court mentioned is close to Don Lee's....mobile home park just south on the right hand side on 50.

It's sick that we have a justice system that allows this person to still be on the streets. It won't be until he really hurts someone that he'll do any time and then it will be way too late for whoever he hurts and their family. I hope he gets the karma he has coming sooner than that and he comes face to face with an armed homeowner.

yeah that's what I meant  but now that I think about it a dog getting to him wouldn't be so bad either. If folks don't have a dog that will bark if there is an intruder they can at least get the Beware of Dog signs and put them at the front and back door. A bad guy will be more likely to go to a house where they don't think they'll find a dog waiting for them. My dog went nuts the other night in the middle of the night and I thank god for that kind of reaction from him (even if it was a false alarm!). Another reason why I love my Benny boy (see WalMart thread ).

Wake County has a crime map ... http://spotcrime.com/nc/wake+county

Does anyone know if JoCo has something similar? If they do, I haven't been able to find it ... I tried entering Johnston County on above map, but nothing comes up.

Do you see any crimes listed at that link? I just see a Google Map, with no crimes listed.

Does it work for you? I tried looking at Johnston County but there were no crimes listed during any date time frame. I don't think Johnston County is THAT good. ;)

    Break-ins

Had spotlights shining across the front, three dogs, deadbolt, metal plated door, living on a busy corner on a busy highway and none of it helped. It took them three kicks and braving the dogs but they got in. Biggest problem is that my 15 y.o. was sleeping in his room and things didn't register until they were already in the house. He crawled under the bed until they were gone. He didn't recognize the voices. I thank God that he was not hurt, the stuff can be replaced.

WOW, glad he was quick thinking and hid from them. You are so right. . . things are only things, but loved ones cannot be replaced. I sure hope they catch these people.

plummobile, Thank God your son was not hurt and hid. Hope eveyone else will be that lucky. Could he tell how many people were in the house, and if they were male and female, any accents in their voices, and possibly what race. All info can be useful to help us protect ourselves.

Registration is free and that is apparently what unlocks the map to show activity. In the search terms, make sure you have a valid to/from date. Mine shows activity.

I'm wondering, for the people who have been robbed or know those who have been robbed recently... Can you give us more information on the incidents? We're trying like crazy to protect ourselves. My kids' dad's house was one of the ones with the door kicked in, and it rattles me to no end that they had their things at his house rummaged through and stolen. I would HATE for it to happen again at my house, where they live most of the time...

Were the break-ins in subdivisions or on main roads? (It sounds like both). In subdivisions, were they on through-roads or cul-de-sacs? During the day, night, or wee hours of the morning? Were there dogs (and if so, are they friendly dogs)? We have BIG dogs, but not sure how protective they'd be if someone broke in. They look threatening, but that's about it...

I'm just concerned and am trying to round up information in one place so we can sortof put it together. I've told all my neighbors and local friends, many of whom knew nothing about the break ins and their frequency.

Also, my husband and I were wondering- where are they unloading all of these big items? They must have a truck or van to load up. The storage places in Johnston and Wake counties should really be on the lookout for folks who are making frequent trips in and out of their units... or any suspicious activity. There's got to be a place they're keeping all the things they stole and selling out of the unit.

Any information will help (even if it just gives me a false sense of security). Thanks.

    Break-ins

Ours was at 5:45 in the morning. I thought my big dog was grouchy enough to protect us (he has before-though not at a break-in) but I suspect that the loud pounding on the door and the subsequent kicking in, may have sounded like thunder and he retreated. Everything they took could fit in the back seat of a car. There were at least two because my son heard one of them call to the other to help him carry a 5 gal glass bottle that was about a third full of change. Thanks for the words about and for my son.

Did he say what race they sounded like, since they were speaking English we can pretty much be sure they are not Hispanic.

This is really scary. These break ins are near my home too & I have young teens who are home alone at times also
