Cant help with this one yet. Not involved with that project so somewhat out of...well totally...out of the loop. Pep Boys does not own the land though, Shotwell 70 Partners do, which is just a holding/development company.
This is the thread I saw that in...post #16 by the webmaster. I sure don't know what is going there, but I agree that the last thing needed in Clayton is another auto parts store. http://www.4042.com/4042forums/showthread.php?t=36297&highlight=pep+boys&page=2
Just came down 70 from Garner, WOW, they cleared alot of land right there. You can't see all that from driving by on Shotwell Rd.
I don't think they would put an Olive Garden in Clayton when they are putting one in Smithfield. Rumor does still have it that there could be another Drafthouse type bar/restaurant going on a parcel there in the future.
From what heard, Venero's is under the impression that Olive Garden is going to be in Clayton. I can't believe we are going to be stuck with another freaking auto parts store.
It is going to be a Pep Boys. I was talking to a couple of them yesterday while at the Garner Store. Its not going to be a full Pep Boys like in Garner but more of a service station kind of Pep Boys.
From the Clayton News Star article.... "Right now, the only business ready to begin construction is Pep Boys, the car-repair chain. The developers are still looking for buyers for the other four standalone lots and hope to fill them with a bank branch, a restaurant and retail." There is still hope and plenty of space for other stuff there.
Would be nice to have a Tractor Supply, I hate driving 25 minutes to the one in Fuqay, Zebulon, or Smithfield.
