So excited, after 20plus years, i finally have a piano again!!! Someone mentioned quite awhile back about someone down Rt 50 that did piano tuning, does anyone know who that is or someone else that does it, hope it is not a lost art, i can't wait to start playing again, just scared i won't remember how to read music
thanks, that is what my Mom said, but my hubby and son's are expecting me to start off just like i left off and i'm skeered Gonna have to practice when no one is home so i don't embarrass myself
Did you ever find your piano tuner? I have inherited the piano I learned to play on, and I'm in the same boat! Want to start playing again but it's going to be pretty bad at first. And the piano has been moved twice so it's in desperate need of tuning.
Not yet i have been told that there is someone on 50 that does it but don't have the contact info yet, still looking.
Try contacting the Neighborhood Academy of Music on 42. They may be able to point you in the right direction, or may even have someone on staff that can assist you. http://www.neighborhoodacademyofmusic.com/
I just got this email from the music academy! "The academy has Tony Thompson, 919-816-7798. He lives in Cary, and will be tuning the academy pianos on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 20 & 21. A lot of times he will try to schedule others in this area when he comes. I think you will be happy with him. He is reasonable and does a great job!" Thanks for the tip!
That is perfect timing! DS takes singing lessons there, and the entire staff has always been professional and helpful. Hope it works out for you!
Tony was great. He came yesterday and my old piano sounds wonderful. At least, it did when he played it... He's been tuning pianos for 40 years.
