Medical Assistants primarily work in doctors offices doing front office work (billing, reception, appointments, filing charts) and/or back office typically showing patients to the examining rooms, getting patient history, taking vitals, possibly getting samples (drawing blood, urine, etc.), running basic tests. You'd probably find the program pretty easy ... no clue what you've already taken would count towards a degree. I believe it's an associates degree program, which then requires certification. Keep an eye on the newspaper/help-wanted ads to see if there are any jobs available in our area to see what the true outlook is.
