Noticed they are closed and tearing stuff out of there. Are they going to tear down the building and build a new one?
That's good to hear. I was calling them last week and no one ever picked up so I just figured they had closed. It was time for a remodel. I think they truly got their monies worth out of that building.
I called there yesterday, not knowing they were closed for remodel, and the machine says they will reopen in February.
About time! Last time we were there the biggest roach we have seen since we lived in Florida and Louisiana joind us for pizza. Smithfield location is clean, friendly and efficient staff and prepares good pizza!
There's a little place over near JR Cigar. I don't remember the name of the place, but the pizza is very good. Queue up someone from NY City chiming in to tell us how we can't get good pizza around here.... That always amazes me considering that many of the so called NY Pizza places are owned by transplanted New Yorkers. How do so many of them forget how to make pizza when they move here and open their pizza shops?
Actually the Food Network did a show about this , and used the same chef and ingredients and everything and made 5-6 pies. The only thing different between them was the water used which was taken from several cities such as NY, Chicago, Beantown, etc. And the winning pizza in a blind taste test was the one made from NY water. Guess that explains why they can't make NY style pizza here.
