I have 4 dogs all 6 or over. Unfortunately, circumstances are forcing me to have to get rid of at least 2-3. Ideas of where to go that will give them the best chance of adoption or what I should do? Thanks
Depending on the breed, sometimes contact some local rescues first. Some of them will take owner surrenders. Both Wake County and Johnston County Animal Shelters also work with a lot of rescues and the SPCA to adopt dogs. The SPCA does not take owner surrenders directly. http://www.spcawake.org/site/PageServer?pagename=New_Pet_Intake_FAQ https://www.facebook.com/FriendsOfWakeCountyAnimalCenter https://www.facebook.com/JohnstonCountyAnimalServices https://www.facebook.com/southeastgsdrescue https://www.facebook.com/pages/Southern-Siberian-Rescue/130933903640600 https://www.petfinder.com/animal-shelters-and-rescues/search/?location=27520&shelter_name= If you tell me more information about them dogs, especially breeds, I can try and help more.
I would check with Southeast German Shepherd Rescue and see if they can help at all, or at least point you in a good direction. https://www.facebook.com/southeastgsdrescue http://www.southeastgermanshepherdrescue.com/ Niki - sgsrshepherds@gmail.com Hopefully they can help. Post up some photos and some more info like sex and ages, maybe someone on here might be interested.
Also worth calling some of the local vets, ask if they know anyone looking for a German Shepherd mix dog. http://members.petfinder.com/~NC100/index.html
