Anybody know where I can pick up an AC run capacitor in the 40/42 or Clayton area? Came home tonight to a hot house. Fan on the comressor was running, but I was able to get it started with a push, so it's a bad run cap.

I think Grainger in Raleigh carries them. I know that they used to.

You can check with any A/C repair service such as Stephen's, Carolina A/C etc. they will sell the part only.

OK, but just a heads up for those new to the area. If you live in Johnston county, almost everything requires a trip in to Raleigh.

Wound up going to D&L parts, near new hope rd & 64. They were very helpful and had the exact part I needed.

Same thing happened to us a few weeks ago and we ended up at Grainger after unsuccessful trips to Lowes and Home Depot.

You can find inexpensive replacements on Amazon, Home Depot.com (not in the store), or Ebay if you have time to wait for shipping. After fixing this cap, I ordered a spare off of Amazon for $7.50. Cheap insurance for the next time one of these things goes out.
