Bill in process to allow Town of Clayton to extend extraterritorial jurisdiction.

    And when Clayton heads west, I'll be looking for either the mass migration out to unincorporated areas or those folks who said it wouldn't happen to admit they were GLARINGLY clueless.

    Clayton is annexing areas to the SE and NW of town along the railroad. Most of this is to bring the pharmaceutical companies and other planned development under their jurisdiction for better municipal services (water/sewer/etc.). Nothing nefarious here and no indication Clayton is annexing 4042 area.

    As if the town of Clayton is going to advertise that well ahead of time, in order for any resistance to be mounted.

    I believe they kind of have to since there has been legislation passed to prevent forcible annexations.

    I have no doubt they will comply with the law. I'm saying that they'll do it the same manner one uses to boil a frog...put it in comfortable water in a pot and gradually increase the heat.
