And....the NC Chamber makes an announcement:

NC Chamber supports CSX intermodal terminal in North Carolina
RALEIGH, N.C. – Lew Ebert, president and CEO of the North Carolina Chamber, a nonpartisan business advocacy organization, has announced the organization’s support of the placement of a CSX intermodal terminal in North Carolina as it will make our state more competitive to draw investment and keep, attract and grow jobs.

And...speculation about the special closed-door meeting scheduled in Johnston County for tonight:

'Special meeting' in Johnston County — CSX terminal project?
But Trent Lassiter, the land owner whose very public opposition to the CSXproject caused officials to back off their support of the announced site plan, says he and other landowners are expecting CSX to be the topic of discussion.

Following a closed-door meeting Wednesday evening, officials said they once again support a CSX cargo hub in Johnston County.

Tony Braswell, chairman of the Johnston County Board of Commissioners, said the board is in favor of CSX coming to North Carolina, but they couldn’t support a previous proposal that was originally presented, due to its effect on property owners.

WTH? These guys don't know whether to scratch their watch or wind their butt.

Any project is going to have some effect on some landowners. What they're saying is that they don't want it if it affects those specific landowners. 1,500 jobs, people. 1,500.

Well you know, when you contribute tens of thousands of dollars to someone's campaign, they will say they support the project but it better not affect my main campaign donor's land.

Or maybe just another case of NIMBY.

Either way, the economic impact from this project will be huge to the local community. Especially in a community where they are struggling today.

But this is prime farm land that has been in my family for a billion years and we use what we grow there to feed the homeless meth heads right down the street.

    :D

If they didn't use meth, there'd be some other reason they are homeless, such as they don't want to work, we'll support the dear addicts!!

And what is not used here is shipped out on the railroad/trucks to make us a profit for next year's planting ......

Money from weddings and corporate events. You know those things that go well with the train tracks adjacent to the venue.

Green money is better than collard greens any day because money does not go bad as quickly ....
