Wondered if this was ever going to show up again. There was a similar proposal for this same piece of property back during the housing bubble in 2008. They were requesting to build over 900 units covering both sides of the road, then the whole market imploded and that was that. Kind of sorry it’s back again but you cannot stop growth unfortunately.
Town of Clayton approved this annexation last night. The developer has 60 days to submit a rezoning plan, which should include more details. Only a handfull of people came to the meeting and spoke. Several said they had just moved here from the north (CT I think one was), and they wanted to know why the town wasn't improving the state DOT owned roads or the county owned schools. Always amazing how many uninformed citizens there are out there that don't understand the role of local goverment and how the law requires them to evaluate these things.
