Huh? What the h-e-double hockey sticks is a "bugger"? Oh, you meant "booger". OK....here's the bottom line: SMOKERS: (And before you jump all over me, I'm a smoker too!) If you can't wait 1-2 hours to enjoy a meal without lighting up, then maybe you need to revise your priorities! Don't smoke around your kids, because we all know it is harmful and we wouldn't want our kids to pick up our bad habits, other than picking boogers and farting. NON-SMOKERS: Quit your whining about smokers in restaraunts; If it bothers you so much, go somewhere else until the demigogues in NC pass a law prohibiting smoking in public places. Smokers have rights too! Peace.
I have not heard that in years... h-e double hockey sticks. I can't stop laughing. Thanks Yankee!!! I needed that.
I don't think age has anything to do with it. My brother in law is 32 and says it every now and again. He is very animated and is constantly making everyone in the room laugh!!
Miss Manners Farting Etiquette ------------------------------ One may not fart in a church, or during any religious service or ceremonial proceedings. One may not fart in a sickroom unless the patient is farting or unless he specifically says that his visitor is welcome to fart. Good taste still forbids farting by a woman on a city street. It is safe to say that, no one should think of farting or lighting a fart when dancing. Farting is forbidden on local busses and on some coaches on the railroad. These cars are clearly marked "No Farting." Farting is permitted in the mezzanine or balcony seats in some movie houses, but never in the main orchestra. Farting is forbidden in most museums, although some have designated areas where it is allowed. Legitimate theaters do not allow farting in the theater proper. It is usually allowed in the outer lobby, and those who wish to fart during the intermission go there to do so. It is perfectly correct for a man who wishes to fart to leave a lady who doesn't, but he should hurry back, and not leave her too frequently. In private situations when there may be some objection, before lighting your fart, always ask, "Do you mind if I fart?" If there is any hesitation in the reply, do your best to refrain from farting until you leave. A man should light a woman's fart if he is close to her, but not if he is on the other side of the table or if it would be awkward in any way. Fart is an acceptable verb and noun. It is generally appropriate to fart in the presence of one's friends or immediate family, so long as there is adequate ventilation.
I know this is a hot topic so I 'll make mine quick but I would like for the restaurants to be nonsmoking because my2 kids and I have severe asthma and cant visit places that people smoke in.I love alot of the restaurants that allow smoking and would love to go but I just close up and its terrible.I know people who dont suffer from it dont understand.I just think it would be more courteous if all you want to do is to smoke is to go outside before you go in or if you want to smoke again then wait til your done or step outside it dont take but a minute.Little kids dont need to be around a bunch of cigarette smoke. We have to do breathing treatments everyday just to be able to go out to play so they wont get to winded.I just wish people would be more courteous. Not only is it not healthy for the children but the elderly.Just because YOU enjoy smoking doesnt mean everyone else does. Please think about it.I agree that some people just like to complain about everthing all the time but alot of us are really allergic and it does bother us severley.
Right hhmom...it was a hot topic in September 2004,(see the post before yours), so why the he11 did you bump it up again? I'm fairly certain all the regulars on here know how you feel about smoking in public.
Well, if the restaurants want to be non smoking and some are, and they choose that more power to them. I just do not want to see government tell small business owners who they can serve and who they can't. There are more and more choices coming for non smokers and if you can support their ventures to make them viable then you have set the market, not government. Chicago is about to have this fight and it is going to be ugly. Although Chicago is definitely liberal they are not as kneejerk liberal as NYC.
