Just found what is apparently a new FM radio station in Clayton-Smithfield. 102.3 FM. I listened some today and pretty good selection of country music and very liitle talking and I heard no commercials.
Was blue-grass up until a week or so ago. Then it went dark only to re-emerge as another crummy country station, IMO. The no-talk thing does not last long in the radio world. They get people listening and then slowly introduce advertising. Gotta make money somehow.
Yes, I was enjoying 102.3 FM when it was bluegrass. I just tuned in to the "new" format and immediately turned it off. Folks, this "new" format ain't country. Please don't malign real country music by calling that crap "country". Nashville sold out to the country musicians some time ago. Nashville sold out to the bluegrass musicians as well; that is one of the reasons why the IBMA moved to Raleigh. What Nashville is peddling now is rock-pop-hiphop-country. And that crap ain't country rock either. The "new" format does suit Johnston County though.
This all started a year ago...takes a while for big changes to go through! 8) http://www.4042.com/4042forums/showthread.php?t=38041&highlight=radio+station https://www.facebook.com/pages/Country-Superstars-1023/759650410779599 http://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/87320/curtis-media-shuffling-raleigh-portfolio/
