[FONT=Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]The 50-210 Fire department will celebrate the department’s 50th year anniversary this Saturday, August 22, 2009 from 2pm to 10pm. The day will start at 2pm with the sounding of the siren used to call firefighters when the department was first established. [/FONT][FONT=Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]A parade that will begin at Hwy 50 (at Church Road intersection), travel Hwy 50 to Hwy 210 and the thru the McGee’s school complex and ending at the 50-210 fire department. The WJHS marching band, along with antique tractors and cars, fire trucks from Johnston County departments, and the Goodness Grows NC Ag Big Cart will be in the parade. [/FONT][FONT=Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif] The opening ceremony will be at approximately 3:30 pm. Music during the day and night includes the Hickory Grove Quartet and the Grasscats Bluegrass band. There will be food, fun, children’s games, vendors and a car show.[/FONT][FONT=Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif] The day will conclude with a fireworks show beginning at approximately 9:15 pm.
