Granite Bid Goes to Italy and Africa You would think they'd have the 'Buy American Act' in that contract? Things never change in American business practices, and money rules. The memorial needs a giant flag shaped like a clothing tag. On the front it should read, "Authentic American Memorial" On the back of the flag, "MADE IN AFRICA & ITALY".
Mount Airy granite is well-known throughout the world. The Wright Brothers Memorial is made of it, along with the NC Capitol and I think I've read that its been used in D.C. Memorials and in the Singapore Subway system...or somewhere like that. I agree. Its about like American flags made in China. It just ain't right!
