My husband bought some mules and is going to farm with them. Does anyone have any equipment. We are looking for a cart to ride at mule days and we have found a lot of "free" stuff in the neighbouhood (like breaking plows etc.) He has a lot of knowledge of mules but if anyone has any suggestions, cautions, what they would or wouldnt do, we would appreciate your knowledge! We have heard that a lot of people in this area farm with mules and would love to join the group so if you know of anyone who does farm with mules and they wouldnt mind chatting with him, PM me. We will take donations..Will work for equipment. Or if you know anyone selling stuff..PM me. Here is a pic of the "babies" as my hubby calls them. 4042 MEET MOLLY AND DOLLY!
Me either, have some friends that have them, and I've ridden in a wagon behind them on a trail ride, but that's about it! Other than that they are sterile, LOL.
Love the mules! He'll have a good time with them. Wish I had a set to play with, too. My daddy had a small mule that he hooked up to a home-made cart. I worked around mules as a kid. Some folks still had them to plow their garden and pull tobacco drags. The hardest thing I ever tried to do was make a mule gallop. Creedmoor, just north of my neighborhood up NC 50, was the mule capital of the world at one time. Here's my favorite TV mule of all time: Ruth with Festus.
I just wanted to share some pics of the mules in part of their dress. pretty!! People laugh and think we are crazy but he drew a big crowd harnessing them up. We are going to tend 5 acres with them this year the old fashion way. Its his hobby and what makes my hubby happy. Enjoy. If anyone knows of anyone else that has or tends land with mules, PM me. We want to meet others with the same interest so Tony can have a "man group" to chat with...
Mules left our farm about 1946... That being said a Mule will work for you 10+++ years with only the HOPE that one day he can KICK the S*&^ out of you.
